The BlueBioeconomy Pact (PBA) is an initiative that aims to reindustrialize Portuguese industries by incorporating marine-based biotechnological solutions into their value chains. This project aims to increase the added value of bio-industries and contribute to decarbonization, sustainability and the circular economy.

PBA’s Textiles Vertical is developing fibers, fabrics and knits from discarded fishing nets and seaweed, as well as more environmentally friendly processes, creating sustainable alternatives for industries such as apparel and footwear.
