Executive Director of Inovamar
Miguel Marques is an International Specialist in the Blue Economy with extensive experience working across marine industries. He is currently the Executive Director of Inovamar and a founding partner of Skipper & Wool, where he created the “Blue Info” project, continuing a distinguished career as an International Specialist in the Blue Economy.
He is a member of the High Council of the Navy’s Center for Strategic Studies, a member of the United Nations expert panel for the Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, and a university professor, with several scientific articles and books published on the maritime economy.
Helena Silva
Sustainability and R&D+I Project Manager at TMG Textiles
Holding a PhD in Science from the University of Minho, she is involved in the management and oversight of projects focused on circularity, functional textiles, and digitalization. She is also responsible for ESG monitoring and reporting, as well as participating in initiatives that promote sustainable practices.

Sandra Sampaio
Senior Technician at ECMA – PIEP
Sandra Sampaio is an expert in textile innovation and biotechnology, holding a Ph.D. from De Montfort University (England), a master’s degree in Materials Engineering (UNL), and bachelor’s degrees in Textile Engineering and Biology/Geology (University of Minho). She is currently a Senior Technician at ECMA within PIEP, focusing on textile dyeing and finishing, surface modification, nanoparticle synthesis, and polymer processing. With a multidisciplinary approach, she combines science and technology to drive the development of advanced materials.
Juliana Silva
Researcher – CeNTI
Juliana Silva holds a master’s degree in Micro and Nanotechnologies from the University of Minho and has been a researcher at CeNTI since 2019. She works in the Functional Fibers department, focusing on the development of sustainable thermoplastic fibers, advancing innovative solutions for the textile industry.

He currently leads the transition of these advances to the industrial environment, driving innovation at TMG.
